Last week, members of the McFeggan Brown team swapped the office and project sites for two wheels as they took part in the 2026 BPAA Cyclosportive.

Held at Somerdale Pavilion in Keynsham on 17th September, the South West Property Cyclosportive brought together people from across the property sector for a day of cycling, networking and some healthy competition.

Representing McFeggan Brown and taking on the challenge included Vaughan, Steve W, Jude, Jotham and Jonty. And while the cyclists understandably took most of the glory, the event was very much a team effort.

There was plenty of work happening behind the scenes to make sure everyone had the provisions and support they needed throughout the day, including ensuring the cyclists were fuelled and ready to complete the ride — proving once again that getting the job done is rarely a one-person effort.

Every cycling team needs someone willing to go the extra mile. In Jotham’s case, he did this on a bike that was older than himself. We’re not sure whether that demonstrates determination or an impressive commitment to keeping things going, but it certainly deserves recognition.

Events like the BPAA Cyclosportive are also a great opportunity to spend time with people across the property industry outside the usual office and project environment. With colleagues both on and off the course, there was plenty of opportunity to catch up, meet people and, naturally, fit in a few networking conversations along the way.

At McFeggan Brown, we’re used to working as a team to deliver projects on time and to a high standard. The same principle applied to the Cyclosportive. From those putting in the miles on the course to those providing support behind the scenes, everyone played their part.

Well done to Vaughan, Steve W, Jude, Jotham and Jonty, and a big thank you to everyone who supported them on the day.

We’re already wondering what challenge the team will take on next.
