Project Brief
Aico HomeLink needed a new office space that could support the company’s growth while enhancing functionality and employee experience. The primary objectives were:
- Increased Occupancy & Expansion Readiness: The company had outgrown its current office, and the new space needed to accommodate a higher occupancy level, including dedicated meeting spaces, to support the next phase of expansion.
- Welcoming Environment for Visitors: With clients and colleagues visiting from across the UK and Europe, the office needed to create a professional yet inviting atmosphere that reflected the company’s identity.
- Enhanced Facilities: Additional toilets and shower spaces were required within the office itself, rather than relying on the landlord’s shared amenities.
- Budget-Conscious Design: To manage costs effectively, the design had to incorporate existing office furniture while still achieving a cohesive and modern aesthetic.
- Versatile Meeting & Collaboration Spaces: A key requirement was the creation of an auditorium capable of hosting full-team meetings, with integrated technology to connect remote staff working from home or other offices.
Project Delivery
The project was delivered on time, with careful planning and coordination ensuring a smooth process from start to finish. Regular contractor meetings onsite helped maintain clear communication between trades, while early ordering and subcontractor engagement prevented delays. Accurate project surveys were conducted before work began to mitigate the risk of unforeseen issues.
Logistically, the fit-out ran without complications. A dedicated compound was set up in the car park to restrict access to external personnel, ensuring minimal disruption to neighbouring tenants.
To keep things running efficiently, trades were coordinated through regular site meetings, ensuring work progressed seamlessly. The final handover process was smooth, with only a couple of missing furniture items, which were quickly rectified. By addressing any snagging issues before trades left the site, the project team ensured a high-quality finish. The client summed up the experience as: “All round a great experience.”
