McFeggan Brown were delighted to take on the design and fit-out of the Observatory, Bracknell, for BioChek. This was our second project for this client, for whom we had completed a fit-out in Huntingdon for a subsidiary business.
The transformation of the Observatory – a three storey, 45,000 sqft building originally home to Evelyn Partners, a financial planning, wealth management and financial services group.
Project Delivery
The transformation of what was designed as office space into a busy production facility and laboratory space for BioChek, a company manufacturing veterinary diagnostic kits, was a major project. Works included the following:

Strip out of floors back to the concrete, ceilings down, all ventilation and air conditioning removed.

New drainage cut into the concrete slab foundations on the ground floor.

Crane lift of AHU onto the roof.

All services above the ceiling stripped out and new HVAC fitted.

New water supplies to the laboratories.

All new ceilings and LED lighting fitted.

An extension was built at the rear of the building, providing a corridor between the two wings of the building and creating a route between the laboratories that did not involve walking through reception.
