Founded in 2016 with funding in 2018, it soon became clear as Cellular Agriculture grew, that they would need a much larger space.

McFeggan Brown worked closely with the Cellular Agriculture team, as they prepared to move out of their research space within the University of Bath and take up their new building on Corsham Science Park.

After a competitive tender process, with a brief to carry out the installation of the design we had developed, two mezzanines were built–one at
each end of the building–and the fit-out began to take shape from an empty warehouse into offices and laboratories.

Project Delivery

The original mezzanine was extended to create an area for the canteen, offices and meeting rooms. Another plant deck mezzanine was installed as a location for the air filtration and associated ductwork.

Partitions, ceilings, flooring and glazing were then installed to create the central corridor and laboratory suites, in parallel with the laboratory gases and electrical installations.

Finally, the laboratory benching was fitted, along with the second fix plumbing and electrics to connect the sinks and the ceiling mounted power supplies, which were designed to accommodate a flexible layout.
