Project Brief
The Native Antigen Company (NAC) specialises in development and manufacture of native and recombinant viral and bacterial antigens. NAC’s antigens are used by pharmaceutical and IVD manufacturers in vaccine research and serology where proper folding and glycosylation are vital. As well as offering antigens from a rapidly expanding portfolio, NAC undertakes bespoke product development and custom manufacture using its proprietary mammalian cell protein expression system.
During the relocation from the Cherwell Innovation Centre to their current building, a smart, modern unit in Kidlington, NAC asked Kastner to manage the strip out and refurbishment of the entire building, converting the office space into laboratories. Partitions were removed, new ceilings installed, electrical wiring replaced and new flooring fitted. Following this Kastner installed laboratory benches, shelving and underbench storage throughout.
Particular attention was given to the siting and services needed for water purification equipment, glassware washers and autoclave. A low level section of benching was provided to accommodate a number of Class ll biological safety cabinets. Painstaking attention to detail on the part of the laboratory installation team resulted in a finished result that was to the client’s entire satisfaction.
